India vs England, 3rd Test Day 1 Highlights: Ravindra Jadeja stayed not out on 110 as India finished Day 1 of the Rajkot Test at 326 for 5 in 86 overs. Rohit Sharma also scored a hundred before getting out. Sarfaraz Khan was also impressive on debut.
ight then, India have runs on the board and still have more than enough wickets to target 450 runs from here. One positive for England is that the wicket in all certainty will be even better for batting on Day 2 and if they bundle out India early enough, they would be able to bat in excellent conditions. A fascinating Day 2 will begin on Friday at 9.30 am IST (4 am GMT) but you can join us sooner for the build-up. Cheers!

England on the other end will not be entirely pleased with how things ended on Day 1 given they had the hosts on a string in the first 10 overs of the game. Mark Wood was their best bowler and even in the final session, he looked the most likely to pick up a wicket and he did exactly that by sending back the Indian skipper with a well-planned maneuver. England failed to capitalize though and allowed the debutant to play his shots and conceded quick runs. They also missed a couple of LBW calls on which they could have taken the DRS and got rid of both Rohit Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja which did prove costly. However, a lucky chance fell their way and it was Mark Wood yet again but made sure to get the direct hit in and that got them the wicket of Sarfaraz Khan. The second new ball was taken very late in the day and they will hope to do some early damage with it on Day 2.17:05 IST:
Session Summary - 34 overs, 141 runs and 2 wickets. What a stellar final session on Day 1 and the runs really flowed late in the day. India began the post-Tea session with two set batters on the crease and both looked to accelerate a bit. Rohit Sharma got a barrage of short balls and dealt with them well until one that he really snatched at and got out on 131. The highly-rated debutant, Sarfaraz Khan then took to the crease and soon enough, he started taking on the spinners. Khan was aggressive and raked up boundaries for fun with Ravindra Jadeja a mere spectator at the other end. Khan brought up his 50 and looked good but was a bit unfortunate to have gotten run out with just a few overs remaining. Jadeja went on to notch up his 4th Test ton and India ended the day with still half of their wickets intact.
